What good web design in Kerala actually has to do.
Most of the traffic a Kerala business gets is on a phone, often on a mid-range Android over a patchy 4G connection between Kochi and Kottayam. A design that looks superb on a designer's MacBook and takes six seconds to load on that phone has failed at the only thing that mattered. So I design mobile-first, set a weight budget for every page, and treat the desktop layout as the enlargement rather than the other way around.
The second thing is WhatsApp. For a resort in Alappuzha, a clinic in Thrissur or a spare-parts dealer in Ernakulam, the enquiry that converts is a WhatsApp message, not a contact form. Every site I design puts that action where the thumb already is, and I wire it to the number that actually gets answered — which is a design decision as much as a technical one.
Third, the site has to earn its place in Google for the searches your customers make: "ayurveda resort Kumarakom", "CBSE school Kakkanad", "cashew exporter Kollam". That is why the structure, headings and page speed are decided in the design stage and why I hand over a site that is already indexable, with your local SEO foundations in place rather than bolted on later.
And finally, whoever runs the business needs to be able to update it. I build on WordPress when the site is mostly content and on Laravel when it is a product or has real business logic behind it — and I say which, and why, in the first call.

Day 1Structure & wireframes
Page map and low-fidelity layouts in Figma. This is where we agree on what goes where, before any colour or imagery distracts from the decision.
Week 1Visual design
Full-fidelity design of the key pages — desktop and mobile — with your real content wherever possible. Two revision rounds are included here.
Week 2Build & content
I build the approved design in WordPress or Laravel, optimise images, set up SEO basics and forms, and load your content. You review on a staging link.

Hiring a web designer in Kerala — FAQ.
What is the difference between a web designer and a web developer?
A web designer decides how the site looks and works for the visitor — layout, typography, colour, the flow from landing to enquiry — usually in Figma. A web developer writes the code that makes it real. In Kerala these are typically two different people at two different rates. I do both, which is why the design you approve is exactly what gets built.
How much does a freelance web designer cost in Kerala?
For a designed and built business website, ₹15,000 to ₹35,000 for a starter site and ₹35,000 to ₹80,000 for a custom design with more pages and lead-generation features. E-commerce and web applications are quoted individually. Agencies in Kochi typically charge two to three times these figures for the same scope because of their overhead. Every quote I give is fixed-price and written before work begins.
How long does website design take?
A starter site takes two to three weeks. A custom business site takes four to five weeks: a week for wireframes, a week for visual design, and two to three weeks to build, load content and test. The biggest cause of delay on any project is waiting for content, so I ask for text and photos at the start and can arrange copywriting and photography if you do not have them.
Do I get the Figma design files?
Yes. Figma source files are handed over with every project, along with the code and hosting access. You own the design outright — there is no licence and nothing you have to keep paying me to retain.
Will my website work properly on mobile?
It is designed for mobile first. Most visitors to a Kerala business website are on a phone, so the mobile layout is drawn before the desktop one and the site is tested on real Android and iPhone devices before launch, including on slower connections.
Can you redesign my existing website instead of starting over?
Yes, and it is often the better option. A redesign starts with an audit of the current site — where visitors leave, what looks dated, what fails on mobile, what is already ranking in Google and must be preserved. The new design keeps the URLs and content that work and replaces what does not, so you do not lose search traffic in the move.
Do you work with clients outside Kochi?
Yes. I am based in Kochi and work with clients across Kerala — Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kollam, Kannur and the rest of the state — as well as Bangalore, the Gulf and further afield. Most of the work happens over video calls and a shared Figma file; I meet in person for Kochi and Ernakulam projects when it helps.
Do you build on WordPress or Laravel?
Both, depending on the site. WordPress for content-led business sites that you will edit yourself; Laravel when the site is really a product — bookings, portals, e-commerce with custom rules, anything with business logic behind it. I recommend one in the first call and explain why, and either way the design process is the same.
